We are looking for a Classroom Guide Assistant!

This is a part-time position that can start as early as Sep 9, with flexibility to go full-time starting In December or January.

  • 18-hour work week: 9:30-3:30, 3 days a week, M-W or 4 days a week M-Th 9:30-2:00pm

  • Compensation $20/hr

    Job Duties wil Include:

  • Assisting the lead guide in preparing and implementing lesson plans

  • Helping with classroom management and organization

  • Supporting the teacher in maintaining a positive and respectful classroom environment

  • Providing individualized support to students who need extra help or have special needs

  • Assisting students with assignments and projects, as needed

  • Helping facilitate small group work and activities

  • Encourage and support student participation and engagement

  • Preparing materials and supplies for lessons and activities

  • Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment

  • Assisting with setting up and cleaning up after lessons and activities

  • Helping with record-keeping and data entry, as needed

  • Assisting with communication between the teacher and parents, as needed

  • Supporting the teacher in preparing for parent-teacher conferences and other events

  • Supervising students during recess, lunch, or other breaks, as needed

  • Assisting with special events and activities, such as field trips and festivals

    The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with students of varying ages and abilities (our assistant will help with 3rd/4th graders and 7th/8th graders)

  • Has experience working with children in a variety of settings, including classrooms and outdoors

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, capacity to lead a group of children with compassion and confidence

  • Has the ability to adapt and think on their feet

  • Is embodied with patience and empathy when working with others

  • Has the ability to create engaging lesson plans

  • Has the ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying learning needs

  • Has the ability to assess student progress and understanding

  • Has attentiveness and a desire to lead by example

  • Will have an understanding of Waldorf philosophy and be able to engage in a block rotation of subjects and a daily flow that includes a Main Lesson

  • Will strive to create and enhance learning environments that are tactile and engaging

  • Will be looking to be a part of an unconventional educational environment free from the constraints of conventional public or private education options
